Churu situated near the Thar desert, Churu is a district in Rajasthan with a semi-arid climate. The district is also known as ‘The Gateway to Thar’. Churu city is the district headquarters. It was founded in 1620 AD by the Nirban clan of Rajputs.

Churu was a part of Bikaner district before the Independence of India. In 1948, it was separated from Bikaner when it was reconstituted.

There is a fort in Churu city of historic importance and it is believed that it was built approximately 400 years ago. There are beautiful temples of Salasar Balaji and Babosa Maharaj which are of great religious importance.

Babosa 'Divya Sthal' is about 1 KM from Babosa main Temple at Churu Dham. Its main attraction is 65-feet tall grand statue of Lord Shree Babosa Maharaj. This grand statue of Lord Shree Babosa Maharaj was inaugurated on 12th of December 2007 by Guru Maa param aradhika Shree Manju Baisa, on the holy occasion of yearly Mingsar Mahotsav.

This fine art of work ship was a result of hundreds of skilled workers and was completed in a record time of just eight months. This is a miracle in its own. In the words of sculptor, workers always felt the hand of divine power guiding them during their course of completion of this majestic fine art work. 

Made with a mix of sand, cement and tons of steel, this structure is marked as the tallest statue in the state of Rajasthan, and is one of the highest statues in India. This gigantic statue has given the city of Churu a new dimension. Famous for its tourism, Rajasthan has added a new destination in its portfolio of famous tourist locations.

Large number of devotees and tourists visit 'Divya Sthal' everyday to pay homage in the holy feet of Lord Shree Babosa Maharaj. This is a must visit destination for all who plan to visit Churu.

Instead of Churu you can a get flight to Sanganeer Airport (Jaipur) on regular basis.
Churu is 175 km away from sanganeer airport (JAI), jaipur, rajasthan and 222 km away from indira gandhi international airport (DEL),  Delhi.
